Tex's Challenge Adventure Race

This is Texas' Top Gun Solo Race. Solo racers get a chance to prove who is the faster adventure racer in Texas! However, course may also be raced as the traditional 2 person team. Teams travel together during the race; it is not a relay.

This year's race has been moved to Camp Longhorn, home of Tex Robertson, who passed away this past August. Tex Robertson (1909 - 2007) was not only the founder, but also a friend and Inspiration for all. Although he has left this earth, his spirit and presence will always be among the hills and dales and the many lives he has touched throughout his magnificent 98 years. This year's race will be a memorial to Tex, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to one of Tex's designated charities.

The race will start at Camp Longhorn's original camp. The camp has grown to encompass not only the Inks Lake Camp, but also Indian Springs Camp. The race will utilize both camps, and allow the racers to race on an extraordianary and unique race course. The race will be organized as a true challenge, in the spirit of Tex. And as Tex would say, "Sure you can!" and "Attawaytogo!"

Trail Running 2-4 miles
Canoeing 1-3 Miles (Inflatable Sevylor Tahiti K79 Model)
Mountain Biking 12-15 miles (Single Track, Paved Road & Jeep Trails)
