Granite Shoals is a small lake resort town located on Lake LBJ, 7 miles from the city of Marble Falls. It is popular with lake enthusiasts because it is home to 19 city parks on Lake LBJ, providing a lot of desirable lake access. This lake is normally a constant level lake, making it idea for all water sports. Recent growth has allowed several new artisan stores to open in the area, providing more attractions for visitors.

Granite Shoals History - A Quick Introduction |
Granite Shoals got its name from the granite shoals (sandbars) that used to be visible in the Colorado River before the construction of Wirtz Dam and Lake LBJ. Granite Shoals was originally developed as a lake resort subdivision, but it incorporated as a city in 1966 and began with a tiny population of 300 residents. By the year 2000, the population had grown to over 2000 residents and now has a population just over 5,000. The main industry is granite mining. The town is a popular destination for outdoor and water enthusiasts, and you’ll find a number of houseboats in the area. |

Granite Shoals demonstrates its small town charm with its unique lakefront condo rentals and charming vacation homes. In Granite Shoals, you’ll be able to get away from all the city hustle and bustle, but are close enough to larger towns to take advantage of their amenities and shopping just a few miles down the road.
