The Highland Lakes of the Texas Hill Country

Welcome to the Highland Lakes of the Texas Hill Country, better known as the best kept secret in the state of Texas.

Our beautiful lakes are still relatively untouched by the hustle and bustle of society. Leave the city behind you and travel to the beautiful lakes of the hill country. As you travel these hills known for their beauty of lakes, granite, limestone, cactus, and wildflowers you will experience the environment of the Texas Hill Country.

The Highland Lakes are located in the heart of the Central Texas in Burnet County.

With over 1,800 square miles of lakes and hills, the Highland Lakes region is one of the largest playgrounds in Texas.

Lake LBJ, a constant level lake year around, named after President Lyndon B. Johnson, is part of the Highland Lakes chain. Lake LBJ is 21 miles long with a maximum width of 10,800 feet. Lake LBJ is perfect for sailing, camping, lodging, fishing, boating, and all water activities.
